Abstract

The contradiction generated by common sense when it confuses violence and political power is analyzed here from the perspective of Democracy, taken as the form of control of both the State and Society. Despite its exclusive use, the State, to the extent that it is authorized by Society, must conduct it with minimal or no violence, which is only possible with democratic dialogue. To this end, we need to read the classics of Politics on which we anchor our analysis and some facts from reality with which we seek to prove the theory. Therefore, any violent act by Society – against itself, against the State – is, by us, seen and analyzed as a symptom that the State has failed in its rationality, since it has failed to create the necessary channels for dialogue.
