O presente artigo visa apresentar os resultados de uma pesquisa exploratório-qualitativa, que teve por objetivo uma melhor compreensão da realidade das prostitutas de meia idade que trabalham na Praça da Alfândega no centro de Porto Alegre à luz do dia. O artigo parte de uma breve contextualização sócio-histórica da prostituição, para posterior problematização de alguns aspectos e especificidades desta realidade. Procura-se também expor algumas reflexões teórico-metodológicas a respeito do processo de coleta e de análise dos dados.Downloads
