Presence of <i>Limnoperna fortunei</i> (Dunker,1857) (Mollusca, Mytilidae) In the Quaraí River, Municipality of Barra do Quaraí, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
Abstract
Limnoperna fortunei (DUNKER,1857), the Golden Mussel, is a well-known invasive species proceeding from Asia. The first record in South America was in 1991, in Argentina and in 1999 in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In this paper is reported for the first time the presence of Limnoperna fortunei in the Quaraí River, western Rio Grande do Sul.
