Abstract

The study area extended of Imbé to Torres, coast north of Rio Grande do Sul. Intends to characterize the communities of CHARADRIIFORMES and CICONIIFORMES, through diversity analyses (Shanon-Wienner - H') and of similarity (Jaccard), esides correlations with flotation of the human population. 29,065 birds were registered, identified in 57 species and 12 orders. Of these species 57.89 % they belong to Charadriiformes and Ciconiiformes, characteristic birds of the coastal environment. The largest diversity was observed in the winter period (H'=3.246 bits for individual), and the smallest during the summer (H'=2.35 bits for individual). The largest similarity happened between the autumn and winter. The correlation with flotation of the human population indicated a medium negative correlation, however it was not significant (p>0.01). Keywords: Similarity, diversity, coastal environment.
