Justice, bails e representations in the Civil Police

The paper discusses the practices of bail set at the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro in the legal anthropology’s perspective. The chiefs observe when they make their judgment about the value, they take into account the morality of the prisoner, whom he seems to be, apart from the fact that was practiced. Freedom has different values according to this moral judgment. Speaking about “making justice” some police chiefs impose punishments and they actualize power relations.
