This essay aims to present the conclusions of the case study performed on the Restorative Practices Central of the Porto Alegre Court of Childhood and Adolescence. The research proposal was to analyze how much the institutionalization of restorative practices could contribute to a paradigm change in the Brazilian judicial milieu. In order to do that, using the theoretical basis laid by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu and the analysis of socio-legal research, the traditional law practices were defined, so as to offer an analysis parameter for the data collected during the case study. In conclusion, we point out that restorative law is currently undergoing a process of consolidation as an alternative to traditional conflict resolution practices, and that the Restorative Practices Central has contributed to this movement, even though its creation did not significantly alter the form of reproduction of the judicial area that was studied here.References
