Saberes e práticas de oficineiros – análise de uma cognição situada

Resumo

O presente trabalho analisa os saberes e as práticas postas em ação por educadores sociais – oficineiros – membros de um bairro periférico da cidade de Porto Alegre no desenvolvimento de oficinas com jovens de sua comunidade. Circunscrevemos esse estudo dentro da perspectiva de uma cognição situada (Varela et al., 2003) em uma rede heterogênea configurada por instituições, ferramentas e saberes. Nessa perspectiva o ato cognitivo não se limita a uma efetividade na resolução de problemas, mas como capacidade de fazer emergir questões pertinentes. Como método de pesquisa acompanhou-se o trajeto de dois oficineiros no transcurso do projeto tomando como analisador as questões emergentes. As questões postas pelos próprios oficineiros permitiram distinguir três domínios: os sentidos de seu trabalho, a oficina e as relações entre seu trabalho e demais instituições. Ao final, são discutidos alguns dos operadores que potencializam a oficina a escapar de uma lógica preventiva e moral.

ABSTRACT
Knowledges and practices of workshop mediators – analysis of a situated cognition
The present article examines knowledges and practices set in motion by social educators – the so called ‘oficineiros’, or workshop mediators – who are residents of an outskirts neighborhood in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where they conduct workshops with youths of their communities. The study is circunscribed within the perspectve of situated cognition (Varela et al., 2003) in a heterogeneous network including institutions, tools, and knowledges. From that perspective, the cognitive act is not restricted to effectiveness in problem solving, but it is rather an ability to make pertinent issues emerge. As a research method, the work of two of those mediators was followed during the project, taking emergent issues as analysers. The issues posed by the mediators themselves allowed the distinction of three domains: the meanings of their work, the workshop itself, and the relationship between their work and other institutions. Finally, some of the operators that allow the workshop to escape a preventive and moral logic are discussed.
