Argumentação Escrita e as Crianças: Um Estudo Sobre o Julgamento de Texto Argumentativo

Investigou-se como crianças da 1ª a 4ª série julgam o texto argumentativo escrito comparativamente a outras tipologias de texto, a partir da função que a argumentação desempenha de persuadir ou convencer. Foram apresentados à criança cinco tipos de textos diferentes, sendo apenas um deles argumentativo. Ao escolherem um texto que melhor as fizessem entender que não se pode brigar na escola e um texto que melhor fizesse outra criança entender que não se pode brigar na escola, as crianças não levaram em conta a estrutura dos textos. As crianças também não relacionaram ao texto argumentativo a função de persuasão ou convencimento. Essa função tampouco foi relacionada a outro tipo de texto, mas sim a conteúdos dos diversos textos que apresentavam alguma relação com as crenças que as crianças possuíam.

ABSTRACT

Written argumentation and children: a study about the argumentative text judgment This study examined how 1st to 4th graders judged written argumentation in comparison to other types of texts considering the argumentative discourse purpose of persuading or convincing. Five types of texts were presented to children; only one of them was an argumentative text. Choosing texts that could make either themselves or another child understand that they cannot fight at school, the children did not take into account the text structures. The children did not relate the purpose of persuading or convincing to the argumentative text. This purpose was not related to any other type of texts also, but solely to some of the text contents which were in accordance with children’s beliefs.
