Prevalência da proporção áurea em indivíduos adultos-jovens
Abstract
Este estudo analisou a prevalência da proporção áurea de indivíduos com sorrisos agradáveis, e sua diferença entre os sexos. Oitenta e oito estudantes do curso de odontologia da Faculdade Tiradentes foram selecionados, sendo 51 mulheres e 37 homens, entre 18 e 25 anos, obedecendo aos critérios da pesquisa. Foram realizadas as tomadas fotográficas dos dentes, utilizando câmera digital e papel milimetrado. Para a análise dos dados foi selecionado o teste do Qui-quadrado (χ2), utilizando-se o nível de significância de 5%, realizou-se a estatística com o software Bio-Estat 2.0. Os resultados mostraram que homens e mulheres não diferem quanto à presença da proporção áurea entre os incisivos centrais e laterais no lado esquerdo e a proporção áurea no lado direito está mais prevalente em mulheres do que nos homens. Homens e mulheres não apresentam proporção áurea entre os incisivos laterais e caninos no lado direito e a proporção áurea no lado esquerdo está mais prevalente em mulheres do que nos homens. A relação de proporção áurea não é aplicada na maior parte da população.

SUMMARY
This study analyzed the golden proportion prevalence in individuals with agreeable smiling and gender difference. Eighty-eight undergraduate students of the dentistry course of the Tiradentes University were selected, 51 women and 37 men, with ages ranging from 18 to 25 years, in agreement with the following criteria. The photographs were taken with the digital camera using a millimeter paper reference. The Chi-square test (χ²) was selected for the analysis of data using the level of significance of 5%. The statistical analysis was accomplished with the software Bio-Estat 2.0. Results show that no difference was found between men and women as to presence the golden proportion between centrals and laterals incisives in the left side and the golden proportion in the right side is more prevalence in women that men. Men and women have not golden proportion between the incisives laterals and canines in the right side and the golden proportion in the left side was more prevalent in women that men. The golden proportion is not a common factor in the majority of the students.
