Gengivoestomatite herpética primária em adulto: relato de caso clínico
Abstract
A gengivoestomatite herpética aguda é o padrão mais freqüente de infecção herpética primária sintomática. É observada mais freqüentemente em crianças com idade variando entre 1 a 5 anos, e também tem sido observada em adolescentes e adultos jovens. Nesse trabalho foram abordados os aspectos clínicos característicos da infecção em um paciente adulto, ressaltando a importância do cirurgião-dentista no seu diagnóstico e os cuidados necessários para previr a sua transmissão.

SUMMARY
Acute herpetic gingivostomatitis is the most frequent pattern of primary herpetic infection symptomatic. It is observed most commonly in 1-5 year old children, and it has been seen in adolescents and young adults too. We report the characteristics clinical aspects of this infection in an adult, showing the importance of the dentist in the diagnosis and the specific care necessary to prevent its transmission.
