Foram enviados 1408 questionários para professores de 1408 salas de aulas. Destes, retornaram 958. O resultado mostrou que 41% dos professores consideram ter em suas salas alunos talentosos e a maioria desconhece as necessidades desta população e os programas previstos para desenvolver os talentos.<br> <b>Descritores</b> – Superdotação; talento; altas habilidades.<br> <b>ABSTRACT</b> – The giftedness is still an enigma for the Science and in Brazil few studies investigate this phenomenon. Consequently, many talents were not even identified. This study aimed to identify the number of students considered talented by their teachers enrolled in elementary public schools in the city of Bauru. It was sent a 1408 questio- naires for teachers from a 1408 classrooms. From this total, 958 returned. The results show that 41% of the teachers considered having talented students.
