Abstract

This study aimed to identify and record Nymphalidae specimens from Rio Grande do Sul, and upgrade existing species lists for this family. The material used in this study consisted on mounted and labeled butterflies from collections, literature review and insects collected in the field. Results showed the presence of 27 species of Nymphalinae and 49 of Satyrinae corresponding, respectively, 13.85% and 4.46% of the related for the Neotropical region.
