Comparação entre diferentes descalcificadores no estudo da ultraestrutura dentária em peixes

Abstract

Three types of agent to etching teeth were tested to verify which presents better performance in the visualization in SEM of the apatite crystals - mineral deposited in the skeleton of the vertebrates, including teeth - that compose the dental enameloid tissue: EDTA, hydrochloric acid, and phosphoric acid. The best solution was through the immersion of the teeth in phosphoric acid 15% from 4 to 15 seconds, depending on the size of the teeth. After decalcification the teeth were submitted to the protocol commonly used in preparing the piece for observation in SEM.
