This article discusses the criminal mechanisms of social control in Latin America, trying to identify the authoritarian excesses, it is used as tool criminalization of poverty and vulnerable groups, always present in the history of our continent. Such excesses of Latin American social control system, which according to Zaffaroni is modeled on the lombrosiano control project, it owes much to political and social conditions characteristic of our region, which installed a racist social control and class, and that is different from logic control in the central countries. thus it comes up to study the continued criminalization, marginalization and repression of the working class through the political and criminal repression system that primarily affects vulnerable groups and political manifestations of popular empowermet. So we make a bibliographic historical rescue of repression of popular uprisings, through the criminalization of malts coops and political repression, and finally emptying into the prohibitionist system of war on drugs, which in its structure has become an important criminalization mechanism resulting in violation of human rights, imprisonment and extermination of Latin America's poor youth.
