Abstract

In this interview, the teacher and researcher Ivan Marques talks about aspects related to the construction of João Cabral de Melo Neto: uma biografia, published in 2021, by the publishing house Todavia. In over ten answers, Marques explains his methodology and the stages of elaboration of the work, explains the convergence between biographical writing and his academic performance, points out his main sources of reserarch, indicates the inflection points in João Cabral’s poetic work, discusses the contrasts, literary relationships, friendships, family and professional life of the biographed.
