Resource-based view, strategy, structure and firm performance: an analysis of the gaps and research opportunities existing in the field of strategic management

This article aims to analyze the opportunities for the advancement in the studies that treat with the relationships between resource-based view, strategy, structure and performance of the firm. To do so, the research opportunities identified in the studies that present these relationships were investigated. The starting point was the identification of the gaps highlighted in the recent scientific literature that addressed these issues. In this sense, the article intends to initially analyze the relations between RBV, strategy and structure of organizations for the achievement of superior performance. Subsequently, based on this understanding, it is a critical look at the gaps and opportunities of existing research in the field of strategic management and propose novel ways to advance the studies of these theories.References
