Abstract
SUMMARY
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the addition of inorganic filler to the dentin adhesives on the marginal microleakage. For such, eighty incisives bovine received class V preparations in the cemento-enamel junction and they were divided in eight groups, each one receiving versions with and without filler of different adhesive systems, according to the manufacturers’ instructions. The following Groups were evaluated: OS – One Step (Without Filler – WOF), OSP – One Step Plus (With Filler – WF), PB – Prime & Bond 2.1 (WOF), PBNT – Prime & Bond NT (WF), ST – Stae (WOF), STM – Stae + 10% of SiO2 particles with size of 0,01 μm (WF), SB – Single Bond (WOF), SBC – Single Bond +10% of SiO2 particles with size of 0,01 μm (WF). The cavities were restored with two increments of Z250. The teeth were immersed in distilled water at 37ºC by 24 hours and submitted to 500 thermal cycles (5 and 55ºC). The microleakage was evaluated quantitatively by the method of the silver nitrate following by clearing. The data were submitted to parametric one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s test (a = 5%), being obtained a value of p = 0,00. The means (± standard deviation) observed for each Group were: SB: 1,07 (± 0,20)a; OS: 1,25 (± 0,49)ab; OSP: 1,64 (± 0,59)ab; SBC: 1,69 (± 1,07)ab; PBNT: 2,21 (± 0,98)ab; PB: 2,60 (± 1,45)bc; ST: 3,70 (± 1,29)c; STC: 3,86 (± 1,11)c. The groups accompanied of the same letters don’t present significant differences. We can conclude that the addition of filler particles didn’t influenced in a significant way the marginal microleakage. Significant differences were verified among the different adhesive systems.
UNITERMS: dentin; dental leakage; dentin-bonding agents.
