Estudo in vitro da ação clareadora do peróxido de hidrogênio a 35%
Abstract
SUMMARY
This study evaluated, in vitro, the efficacy of the peroxide of hydrogen to 35% in the 3 dental thirds. Faces initial pre-molars of humans, healthy, darkened during 96 h in a mixture of coffee, black tea, beverage to based on coke, wine and solution of tobacco, were submitted to two whitening by the hydrogen peroxide gel to 35% with break of 7 days. The efficacy whitener was determined through the spectrophotometer Easy shade-Vita – system CIELab. The parameters L*, to* and b* determined, preliminarily, revealed the following results: high brightness (L*) and keys tended to the green one (-a*) and to the yellow one (+b*); after pigmentation, detected itself reduction of the brightness (L*) and predominance of the yellow and red colors for the parameters a* and b*; 7 days after the 1º whitening had significant improvement of the values of L* and a*, although have not had integral removal of the pigmentation; 7 days after the 2º whitening the three parameters returned to the values near to those initial, being that the parameter b* was the responsible one by the efficacy whitener. For the values of ΔE, were found the following measure referring the thirds, cervical, middle and incisal: 6,04 ± 2,57; 5,22 ± 2,93 and 5,11 ± 1,71. Concluded that: 1. it had expressive removal of the pigmentation after the two whitening; 2. the absence of uniformity between the thirds after first session, justified the demand of two procedures whitener, with break of 7 days, since these parameters have distinct behaviors; 3. the values ΔE for each third had pointed some visual perception, however the values of L*, a* and b* compared, separately, did not reveal differences statistics significant.
UNITERMS: dental bleaching; hydrogen peroxide; discolored.
