Airport risk management during works and services
Abstract
Works and services mean significant change for airport standard, bringing a set of new hazards with consequences for safety. The existence of regulation for safety assurance during works and services in airports shows this is an important issue for regulator. However, if there is regulation, there is not a clear induction for practice. Therefore, the proposal of a risk assessment framework for works and services in runway system is timely and appropriate, been the purpose of this paper. The framework presentation was supported by a hypothetical scenario that allowed illustrate its application. Based on ICAO’s risk assessment concepts the framework shows a set of activities wich can be grouped in phases and, further, show some expected outcomes.
