Aircraft noise: the issue of noise pollution in Porto Alegre examined under a legal light

Currently, issues related to the preservation of the environment are in evidence in various fields. The present work discusses aircraft noise, a type of pollution extensively legislated which is gaining prominence in the vicinities of airports on account of the legal responsibilities it entails. The case of Salgado Filho International Airport – where interviews concerning the Noise Zoning Plan and the use of land around the airport site were carried out with the Municipal Departments of Environment and Planning and with Infraero (the airport administrator) – was used as reference in this study.

Ruído aeronáutico: o problema da poluição sonora sob análise legal em Porto Alegre
RESUMO: Diante do atual cenário, temas relacionados à preservação do meio ambiente são destaque em diversos setores. O presente trabalho trata sobre ruído aeronáutico, um tipo de poluição que possui extensa legislação, porém está obtendo ênfase no entorno dos aeroportos no que se refere a responsabilidades perante a lei. O caso do Aeroporto Internacional Salgado Filho foi tido como referência nesse estudo, onde entrevistas foram conduzidas com as Secretarias Municipais do Meio Ambiente e de Planejamento e com a Infraero, administrador aeroportuário, no que tange ao Plano de Zoneamento de Ruído e o respectivo uso do solo no entorno do sítio aeroportuário.
