Facetas da Exposição In Vivo e por Realidade Virtual na Intervenção Psicológica no Medo de Dirigir

Resumo

Entrar em contato com o estímulo temido faz parte das estratégias de intervenção psicológicas mais indicadas ao tratamento de fobias e medos. Este artigo descreve os componentes de exposição em algumas das principais estratégias para tratar medos e fobias específicas, com destaque para a Terapia da Aceitação e Compromisso (ACT) e a Terapia de Exposição por Realidade Virtual (VRET), focando a fobia de dirigir. Dados da bibliografia mostraram que os principais tipos de tratamento envolvem a exposição às situações/objetos temidos, e essa pode ser pública e/ou privada (a experiência do sentir e do pensar na ACT) ou virtual, como na VRET. Conclui-se que respostas intensas de ansiedade são extintas na exposição ao estímulo público/privado, não importa se in vivo ou por realidade virtual, e como o medo envolve o comportamento verbal, os princípios de aprendizagem também são aplicáveis na extinção do comportamento emocional relacionado a essas respostas.
