Abstract

SUMMARY
This work aimed to access the effect of sodium ascorbate in the acceleration of residual oxygen liberation in enamel and dentine of post-bleached teeth by accessing the microleakage scores of microhybrid composite restorations with conventional adhesive technology and self-conditioning technology. To the experiment were made strictly proximal cavities in 40 hygid third molars extracted from human beings. The teeth were classified in 8 groups: 1A (control) – no bleaching, restored with adhesive system Stae SDI® and composite resin Glacier SDI®; 1B – bleached and immediately restored with 0adhesive system Stae SDI® and composite resin Glacier SDI®; 1C – bleached, immediately treated with sodium ascorbate 10% and restored with adhesive system Stae SDI® and composite resin Glacier SDI®; 1D – bleached and restored after 15 days with the adhesive system Stae SDI® and composite resin Glacier SDI®; 2A (control) – no bleaching, restored with adhesive system Prompt L-pop 3M/ESPE® and composite resin Filtek Z250 3M/ESPE®; 2B – bleached and immediately restored with adhesive system Prompt L-pop 3M/ESPE® and composite resin Filtek Z250 3M/ESPE®; 2C – bleached, immediately treated with sodium ascorbate 10% and restored with adhesive system Prompt L-pop 3M/ESPE® and composite resin Filtek Z250 3M/ESPE®; 2D – bleached and restored after 15 days with the adhesive system Prompt L-pop 3M/ESPE®. The results, submitted to statistics analysis by Kruskal-Wallis test, shown that sodium ascorbate is able to accelerate the removal of residual oxygen of the dentine and enamel in post-bleached teeth, improving the sealing of restorations.
UNITERMS: dental bleaching; dentin bonding agents; dental leakage.
