A utilização da distribuição dos poros de canais de muco e da coloração ventral como caracteres taxonômicos em Riorajini (Chondrichthyes, Batoidea, Rajidae)

Abstract

Os juvenis da tribo Riorajini, representados pelas espécies Rioraja agassizi (Müller & Henle, 1841);Atlantoraja cyclophora (Regan, 1903); A. platana (Günther, 1880) e A. castelnaui (Ribeiro, 1907) apresentaram uma organização específica do sistema de poros de canais de muco das ampolas de Lorenzinina região ventral do disco. Atlantoraja cyclophora difere de A. platana por apresentar os poros de mucomais desenvolvidos e alongados próximo aos espaços pré-nasal e interbranquial. Em A. castelnaui osporos pré-nasais não são delimitados pois o espaço da regiões pré-nasal e interbranquial é totalmentepreenchido pelos poros dos canais de muco. Nos adultos a coloração ventral também pode ser utilizadana caracterização dos gêneros. Enquanto Rioraja apresenta superfície ventral de coloração clara,Atlantoraja apresenta esta região mais escura. Em Riorajini, o padrão de coloração da região ventral dodisco apresentou caracteres diagnósticos confiáveis para serem utilizados na taxonomia desta tribo.

ABSTRACT
The usage of the distribution of the mucous pores and the ventral coloration as taxonomic charactersin Riorajini (Chondrichthyes, Batoidea, Rajidae)
The juveniles rajids from the tribe Riorajini, represented by the species Rioraja agassizi (Müller &Henle, 1841); Atlantoraja cyclophora (Regan, 1903); A. platana (Günther, 1880) and A. castelnaui(Ribeiro, 1907) showed a specific of the organization of the system of mucous pores of the ampullae ofLorenzini in the ventral surface of the disc. Atlantoraja cyclophora differs from A. platana by thepresence of more developed and alongated mucous towards the prenasal and interbranchial spaces.A. castelnaui presents no prenasal and interbranchial spaces which are filled by the mucous pores. Also,in the adults, the ventral coloration can be used for the definition of their genera. While Rioraja presentslight ventral surface coloration, Atlantoraja has this surface dark. At least for the Riorajini, the ventralcolor pattern of the disc can present a reliable diagnostic and taxonomic characters.
